Veo 3.1 Lite is a text-only video route in the EveryGen AI workspace. It accepts an eight-second scene prompt, a 16:9 or 9:16 format and a requested 720p, 1080p or 4K output. You do not need to prepare an opening photograph, and there are no image, video or audio reference upload slots on this page.
A text-only workflow works best when the subject's appearance and location can be described rather than copied from a supplied asset. Lite has a lower configured per-request credit rate than the other Veo variants here. If keeping a specific product or person recognizable is central to the brief, compare an image-capable route before choosing purely from the price.
THE POSSIBILITIES
Veo 3.1 Lite features, in practice.
Choose the input that fits your idea, then shape the motion. Clips below are local sample footage for the layout.
01 / CREATIVE CONTROL
Text to video without an upload step
Begin with the visible subject, the setting and one action. Add a camera direction only if it helps show that action. Because there is no uploaded image to establish appearance, include the few visual details that matter and avoid filling the prompt with contradictory style instructions.
Use an image-capable model if the brief depends on a particular source photograph.

02 / CREATIVE CONTROL
One location, eight seconds, a readable ending
Plan a beginning, a small change and a final hold in the same setting. A person arriving at a window or an object catching the light is easier to fit than a complete multi-scene story. The fixed duration keeps the request predictable, but does not promise a specific completion time.
Describe the ending composition rather than requesting several fast transitions.

03 / CREATIVE CONTROL
Choose the format and know the request rate
Horizontal and vertical formats let you prepare a scene for different layouts. The configured Veo Lite route charges per generation, with a separate 4K rate. Provider sound behavior is not an editable audio switch on this page. Review the final quote and returned soundtrack before deciding the result fits your intended use.
Requested resolution is an output setting, not proof of native detail or readable generated lettering.

FROM IDEA TO A TAKE
How to use Veo 3.1 Lite.
A clear starting point, a focused brief and settings you can review before submitting.
01
Choose your starting point
Open Veo 3.1 Lite in the generator above. This route starts from text; use the prompt to establish the subject, composition and movement.
02
Build a focused scene brief
Write the subject, action, camera direction and lighting. Keep all visual directions in the text; this route has no image upload mode.
03
Set the format and review credits
Choose 720p or 1080p or 4K output. The request duration is fixed at 8 seconds. Set the aspect ratio for the destination. Review the estimate after changing a setting or adding a reference clip.
04
Generate, review and refine
When generation is enabled, submit after reviewing the brief and content checks. Track the request in Recent takes. Review the full clip for subject details, continuity and sound, then download a useful result or change one part of the brief for the next take.
Load a brief with supported settings in the full workspace. Review it and add your own images or references where required.
Text to video
A quiet evening arrival
An eight-second continuous scene of a traveler entering a warmly lit lounge at dusk. A steady wide view shows the traveler pause by the window, then look outside. Natural body movement, soft reflections and a stable room layout. Gentle room ambience, no text or scene cuts.
The description supplies the appearance and setting because Lite has no reference-image input.
An eight-second vertical shot of a ceramic cup on a small cafe table. Steam rises as morning light moves softly across the surface. The camera approaches very slowly and holds at the end. Simple background, realistic scale, quiet cafe ambience, no hands, logos or captions.
Leave a calm area in the composition if you plan to add text in a separate editor.
Start with the job the clip needs to do. Keep final editing and a full review in your workflow.
01
An idea without source images
Describe a fictional place, object or character and one motion. Use the take to test visual direction when exact identity matching is not required.
02
A text-led vertical scene
Place the important subject clearly in a 9:16 composition. Keep the motion simple enough to read on a small screen.
03
An early video concept
Explore a scene before preparing reference assets. If the project later needs a fixed product or character appearance, move to a supported image workflow.
BEFORE YOUR NEXT TAKE
Do not hide a reference requirement in the prompt
Writing 'use my photo' does not supply an image to this route. If an existing picture defines the subject, switch to Veo Fast, Veo Quality or another image-capable model and upload it through the correct input control.
Make the important details explicit
A text-only model cannot infer your private product or character design. State the appearance, scale and environment that matter. Keep exact brand copy and fine typography out of the generation task and add them afterward when needed.

Can Veo 3.1 Lite generate video from text or an image?
Text to video is supported: describe a scene and its movement. To animate an existing image, choose an image-capable model from the alternatives below.
Which duration and resolution can I choose for Veo 3.1 Lite?
720p, 1080p, 4K output is offered with a fixed 8-second duration. The controls above use these same settings. A resolution selection describes the requested output and does not guarantee native detail or readable small text.
Can I upload reference videos or audio?
This configured route does not expose video or audio reference uploads. Put movement and sound directions in the prompt where supported. Compare Seedance 2.0 if your scene needs those reference types.
How are video-generation credits calculated?
The credit table below the controls section lists this model's fixed rates for every supported output size. Some routes charge per request and others by duration. A content-check allowance is included once. Use Review credit estimate in the generator for the actual settings and uploaded reference duration before submitting.
Does Veo 3.1 Lite include generated sound?
Soundtrack behavior is provided by the Veo route, without a separate audio switch here. Include relevant sound directions in the prompt and check the returned audio; exact speech or timing still needs your review.
What happens during content checks or a failed request?
Prompts and image references are checked before submission. A rejection or unavailable check stops submission. These checks do not audit reference-video frames or audio tracks. Confirmed failed tasks release reserved credits once; an uncertain submission remains under review to avoid duplicate requests.
Are these videos results from the example prompts?
The current clips are local sample footage used to demonstrate the layout. They are not outputs from the displayed prompts, model benchmarks or evidence of a specific model's quality. Example prompts are editable starting points; image and reference examples require your own uploads.
